Join the BAA as we take a deep dive into the archive of Architect and Designer Marcel Breuer with Magnus England and Leyla Daybelge.

The life, furniture and architecture of a 20th Century Master.

From his start as a student and then Master at the Bauhaus in Germany, via a short but productive period in England, Marcel Breuer came to define Modernism and Brutalism in the United States. This richly illustrated lecture by the authors and Isokon Gallery trustees Leyla Daybelge and Magnus Englund places Marcel Breuer as a key form giver of the 20th century, creating furniture, houses and major buildings against a backdrop of a world in turmoil.

Speakers: Leyla Daybelge and Magnus Englund (Authors of Isokon and the Bauhaus in Britain, and also Walter Gropius: An Illustrated Biography) have held many talks and workshops at the Design Museum in London and have previously worked with Knoll, hosting a talk in collaboration with Knoll/Heals in 2018.
