The Brutalist film excited interest in a radical phenomenon of 20th century Modernist British architecture. Join London Historians member Colin Davey, City Guide and former property development lawyer, for a wander around the dominant London development out of the ashes of WW2. We will cover all the nooks and crannies, reveal what was there before the December 1940 bombing (including a little-known connection to the Palace of Westminster), and see how the umbrella Modernist movement was satirised in literature. Erno Goldfinger will make an appearance in the Brutalism story, and we will find time to look at contrasting buildings on the periphery of the Barbican Estate.
Option to join in London Historians monthly pub meet-up afterwards at the Bishops Finger a short walk away.
