Welcome to the Modernism Architecture Photography Symposium happening on Thu 16 May 2024! This is an event organised by the Division of Architecture at London South Bank University and the University of South Wales.

Get ready to immerse yourself in the world of modern architecture photography with expert speakers and captivating exhibitions. During this roundtable discussion, we will examine the displayed works of Mark Durden and João Leal: ‘The Idea of Álvaro Siza – Ocean Swimming Pool’.

Roundtable discussion panellists will include:

Professor Mark Durden: Photographer and artist, University of South Wales;

Professor João Leal: Artist & Professor, School of Media, Arts and Design/ Polytechnic of Porto;

Professor Hugh Campbell: Author of Space Framed (2020), University College Dublin

Giulia Parlato: Artist, Rome/London;

Simon Terrill: Artist/London South Bank University; Work includes “The Brutalist Playground’ and ‘Balfon Project’;

Adam Brown: Artist/Course Director for the BA(Hons) Photography and Imaging at LSBU

We will also discuss the work of invited speakers, and the event also coincides with a book launch.
